“Whether you describe them as Britpop or power-pop, there's no denying that the hooks in [their] singles make them sound like hits” -World Cafe

Recorded in LA, new EP “Automatic” expands upon Paper Pilots' signature "California Britpop" sound illustrated on last year's single release "The Weather”. The EP balances a classic take on songwriting with fresh production, offering a sun-splashed brand of alternative rock with a pop slant. Lead single "Automatic" features an infectious riff and propulsive live band elements, giving the listener a track they can not only dance to, but also dive deeper into with each new listen. "Automatic" ends at an apex reminiscing on "the taste of your summer skin" before settling into a moodier shade for "The Weather." Originally released as a single late last year, WXPN says “[The Weather is] anchored by Bocchieri’s angelic vocals, a super melodic keyboard line, and a chorus that won’t quit.” Closing the EP is "Lovebird”, a song relishing the mysteries of a girl that, at present, only exists in dreams, which Buzzbands.LA descibes as “...an old-school power-pop jam that takes flight on an anxious bass line.” Paper Pilots' "Automatic" EP is out November 7th via Honeymoon Drug Records.

About The Band
Paper Pilots, lead by Justin Bocchieri, were World Cafe: Next Artist coinciding with the release of their last single "The Weather.” The track was featured as WXPN’s Gotta Hear Song of the Week, KCSN's Local Anesthetic, added on AAA radio nationwide, and made Best of 2015 lists including Gary Calamar of KCRW's TOP 10, as well as WPKN, and KX935. Since radio has been so supportive to the band, they decided to uniquely premiere their new Automatic EP by debuting both new tracks in one night via broadcast on LA stations KCRW, ALT987, and KCSN! They've subsequently been added on SiriusXM: The Pulse, KX935, and KLOS: Check one...two, in addition to being featured on playlists such as BMI Music Monday, Music Ninja Indie Dojo, and Buzzbands.LA "Greatest Hits...This Week Vol. 44." The music video for “The Weather” just premiered on The Huffington Post, who said “...the band will soon experience a meteoric rise in the music world”, and has since been added at FuseTV, H20 Television, and California Music Channel among others. Paper Pilots first garnered national attention performing three songs from their self-titled debut EP on HBO's True Blood.

Notable performances include Echo Park Rising, Eagle Rock Music Festival, KCRW's Chinatown Summer Nights, KCSN's Studio V, ALT987 “Close To Home” at The Echo, & KROQ "Locals Only" at The Slide Bar.

With success growing on radio and tv, their new EP "Automatic" is primed to further realize the potential of the band's collected efforts. Produced by Grammy Nominated engineer/producer, Luke Tozour (Katy Perry, Adam Lambert, Jamie Cullum), mixed by Grammy Award winning engineer, Paul Hicks, (Coldplay, Elliot Smith, Paul McCartney) and mastered by Lurssen Mastering (Foo Fighters, George Harrison).
